今回のPoieverywhereは、「HOPE FOR...」をテーマにしています。
花を差し出すPOIが、原宿のさまざまな場所にいます。
「HOPE FOR...」の先に何を思い描くかは、
出会った人に委ねられています。
For this iteration of Poieverywhere, the theme is “HOPE FOR...”
POIs offering flowers appear throughout Harajuku.
What comes after “HOPE FOR...” is left open to each person who encounters one.
POINT OF INTAREST
Poieverywhereは、都市の中にPOIという小さな彫刻を置くプロジェクトです。
POIとは本来、Point of Interest。
地図上のある地点を示す言葉です。
Poieverywhereでは、そのPOIを
Path of Imagination —「想像の道」と読み替えています。
街を歩いていた誰かがPOIに気づき、近づき、足を止める。
それまで通り過ぎるだけだった場所に、ひとつの出来事が生まれる。
彫刻、場所、そしてそこに居合わせた人。
Poieverywhereは、それらが交わることで生まれる出来事を作品として捉えています。
POIによって、見慣れた場所は少し違って見えるのか。
そして、その偶然の出会いは作品になりうるのか。
Poieverywhere is a project that places small sculptures called POI throughout the city.
POI originally stands for Point of Interest — a term for a place marked on a map as somewhere of interest.
In Poieverywhere, POI is reinterpreted as
Path of Imagination.
Someone walking through the city notices a POI, comes closer, and pauses.
A place that might otherwise have been passed by becomes the site of an event.
The sculpture, the place, and the person who happens to be there.
In Poieverywhere, the event that emerges when these three meet is itself considered the work.
Can a POI make a familiar place appear slightly different?
And can that accidental encounter itself become a work of art?
